ColoCrossing was originally part of Velocity Servers Inc., a web hosting and Internet services company founded in 2003. Over the years, ColoCrossing grew independently into a trusted provider of colocation, dedicated servers, and managed services, building a global network of datacenters and delivering reliable, scalable IT solutions for businesses of all sizes.
In 2006, ColoCrossing expanded from primarily hosting websites and gaming servers to offering enterprise-level colocation and dedicated server hosting across its nationwide data centers.
In March 2009, ColoCrossing opened its Chicago facility, completing its first large-scale datacenter build-out and enabling significant growth for the company.
ColoCrossing opened its first Buffalo-based datacenter facility in 2012, bringing the total number of nationwide locations to nine.
ColoCrossing was recognized as an INC5000 company in 2014 for being one of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States. To support its growing business, ColoCrossing also launched its first 24/7 network operations center in Downtown Buffalo, located in the same building as its two existing Buffalo datacenter facilities.
In June 2015, ColoCrossing opened its third Buffalo data center, increasing the total number of locations to eleven.
To accommodate further growth, ColoCrossing moved its headquarters to a larger, modern office space in Downtown Buffalo in 2016.
Thanks to the support of loyal customers and the hard work of its team, ColoCrossing earned recognition as a three-time INC5000 award winner, a Deloitte 500 company, and a Buffalo Fast 50 recipient in 2017.
In June 2018, ColoCrossing was acquired by Deluxe Corporation, providing new growth and expansion opportunities for its existing infrastructure.
In June 2023, ColoCrossing was acquired by HostPapa, a leading North American hosting operator, unlocking additional opportunities and accelerating growth.
In December 2024, ColoCrossing launched its Dublin, Ireland location, expanding international datacenter capacity and providing enhanced connectivity for customers across Europe.
In January 2025, ColoCrossing migrated its Los Angeles operations to a new datacenter location to improve capacity, performance, and infrastructure capabilities.
In February 2026, ColoCrossing expanded and upgraded its Buffalo datacenter, significantly increasing available space while enhancing network capacity and overall infrastructure performance.
